Snow and Avalanche Report Issued at 1500 hrs Monday 20/11/2000 The avalanche hazard forecast issued on Friday 17/11/2000 remains in force. Several avalanches were noted on Sunday in the Northern Corries of Cairngorm on slopes of various aspects. Substantial new snowfall on Sunday night in most Highland mountain areas has increased the avalanche hazard to High (Category 4). Variable winds have caused fresh windslab build-up on slopes of most aspects above 750 metres. Unsettled weather during this week will maintain the High (Category 4) avalanche hazard in affected ranges, including Glencoe, Lochaber, Creag Meagaidh and the Cairngorms.
