dry, sunny and cold conditions with light to moderate w or nw winds
have produced only small amounts of new windslab. slopes of most
aspects have been scoured, but a category 3 (medium localised) risk
of avalanche exists on e facing slopes where the largest
accumulations of old windslab persist.

the forecast light snow showers and s, later nw, light to moderate
winds may add some thin accumulations of windslab to high n through
to se facing slopes and sheltered gully areas. category 3 (medium
localised) risk of avalanche wherever windslab build-up is greatest.

large areas of unstable windslab exist, mainly on slopes with a n and
e aspect. the avalanche risk is category 4 (high). avalanche activity
observed in the eastern corries of aonach mor.

avalanche risk outlook for fri 31/12/93
continuing snow showers with s winds veering nw will further load
existing unstable areas. avalanches will occur on n,e and s facing
slopes. the avalanche risk is expected to remain at category 4
(high).

moderate snow showers with s to nw winds will continue to load
existing unstable slopes. category 4 (high).
