the continued cold,dry,calm conditions have consolidated the snowpack
in most areas. however, the strong temperature gradients through the
snowpack in high, shaded n facing slopes and gullies give a category
3 (medium localised) risk of avalanche in those areas.

a forecast of heavy overnight snow showers and strong se winds is
expected to lead to the rapid build up of unstable windslab and
subsequent avalanche activity on slopes and gullies of a northerly
aspect, giving a category 4 (high localised) risk of avalanche.
