slopes of all aspects mainly above 700m. unstable cornices have also
formed mainly above n through to e slopes and gullies. avalanche risk

all aspects.

fresh/strong n/ne winds and moderate snowfall will deposit snow
in gullies and on slopes of all aspects above 700m.existing unstable
areas of snow will remain unchanged. avalanches will occur in areas
of greatest accumulation. avalanche risk category 4 (high)

recent snow showers and strong nw winds have created accumulations of
marginally stable windslab on e through to se facing slopes and
gullies. largest accumulations of windslab are on steep slopes and
gullies of a se aspect where there is a category 3 (medium) risk of
avalanche. small slab avalanche triggered on se flank of cairngorm.

avalanche risk outlook for sat 15/1/94
forecasted cold, wintry weather with significant snowfall over the
period and moderate nw through to ne winds is expected to load
unstable windslab onto slopes and gullies of a se to sw aspect where
avalanches will occur. category 4 (high) risk of avalanche.

avalanche risk at 1500 on fri 14/1/94
overnight snow and sw winds have continued to deposit unstable
windslab above 800m. slopes with a ne, e and se aspect remain in a
very unstable condition. avalanche debris observed on eastern
aspects. the avalanche risk is category 4 (high).

avalanche risk outlook for sat 15/1/94
a cold northerly airflow this evening will bring snow showers and
cold temperatures. unstable slab will continue to form on most
slopes. avalanches will occur on slopes with a e, se, s and sw
aspect. the avalanche risk is expected to remain at category 4
(high).
