AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SAT 22/1/94 Storm force SW to W winds and heavy snow showers will lead to fresh accumulations of windslab on N through to E facing slopes above 650m. increasing the Avalanche Risk Category to 3 (Medium). SUMMARY. Storm force winds and fresh snow deposits will increase the Avalanche Risk Category to 3 (Medium) mainly on N and E facing slopes. LOCHABER AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON FRI 21/1/94 A moist and generally stable snowpack exists at all levels. The avalanche risk is Category 2 (Low). AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SAT 22/1/94 Fresh snow expected overnight with strong SW to W winds will form areas of windslab on E and NE aspects. Cornices will also re-form on these aspects.
