are generally confined to northerly aspects above 900m. The avalanche
risk is Category 3 (Medium Localised).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR MON 14/2/94
Continuing cold conditions will have little effect on the existing
snowpack. Small unstable areas will be present, mostly on northerly
aspects. The avalanche risk will remain at Category 3 (Medium
Localised).

NORTHERN CAIRNGORMS
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON SUN 13/2/94
A generally very hard,icy and stable snowpack exists.
Storm force S winds are however drifting old lying snow onto the most
sheltered areas of N facing slopes and gullies. These pockets,
although small, are maintaining the current Category 3 (Medium
Localised) risk of avalanche.
Several large sluffs observed in gullies of a N aspect.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR MON 14/2/94
Forecasted very strong S winds and a risk of snow showers will lead
to further accumulations of windslab on the most sheltered areas of
NW to N facing slopes and gullies thereby maintaining the current
Category 3 (Medium Localised) risk of avalanche in these areas.

SUMMARY.
Category 3 (Medium Localised) risk of avalanche on NW to N facing
slopes and gullies.


GLENCOE
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON SUN 13/2/94
Generally there is a stable refrozen crust on the surface of the
snowpack. Above 900m. there are areas of windslab, mainly on N
through to E facing slopes. Avalanche Risk Category 3 (Medium
Localised).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR MON 14/2/94
It will remain cold and dry with strong winds. The condition
of the snowpack is not expected to change significantly. Avalanche
Risk Category 3 (Medium Localised).

SUMMARY.
Generally stable conditions but areas of windslab exist mainly on N
through to E facing slopes above 900m.Category 3 (Medium Localised).
