AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON TUE 22/2/94
Some light snowfall overnight accompanied by strong easterly winds
have deposited small areas of unstable snow, mainly on westerly
aspects and other sheltered locations. The avalanche risk is Category
3 (Medium Localised).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR WED 23/2/94
Light snow and strong E to SE winds will further accumulate small
areas of unstable snow. These areas will be mainly confined to
westerly aspects and other sheltered locations. The avalanche risk
will remain at Category 3 (Medium Localised).

NORTHERN CAIRNGORMS
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON TUE 23/2/94
Strong SE winds and snow has led to the formation of unstable
cornices and windslab on W through to N facing slopes and gullies
resulting in a Category 4 (High) risk of avalanche in these areas.
Small slab released in N facing gully as well as numerous cornice
triggered avalanches observed on NW facing slopes in Coire an-t
Sneachda.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR WED 24/2/94
Strong to gale force SE winds and snow are forecast to continue through
the period. This will lead to a further build up of unstable windslab and
cornices on W to N facing slopes and gullies where avalanches will
occur. Category 4 (High) risk of avalanche in these areas.

SUMMARY.
A Category 4 (High) risk on W to N facing slopes and gullies where
avalanches will occur.
