heavy snow overnight accompanied by strong ne winds have deposited
large areas of unstable windslab. greatest accumulations are on
westerly aspects and other areas sheltered from the wind. the
avalanche risk is category 4 (high).

avalanche risk outlook for mon 28/2/94
overnight snow and strong northerly winds will continue to load
sheltered slopes with unstable windslab. greatest accumulations will
be on s and w aspects, where avalanches will occur. the avalanche
risk will remain at category 4 (high).

new snow and strong winds have formed soft windslab in sheltered
areas but especially in gullies on most slopes above 750m.  avalanche
risk category 4 (high).avalanche activity observed in crowberry gully

avalanche risk outlook for mon 28/2/94
further snow fall and strong n winds will form windslab on slopes
with a s aspect. however all slopes must be treated with caution
above 700m.high risk of victim triggered avalanches where deposits
are greatest. avalanche risk category 4 (high).
