AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR MON 7/3/94
The steady thaw will continue through the period with moderate rain
and a freezing level of 1600m later in the day. This will maintain
the present Category 3 (Medium) risk of avalanche on steep slopes and
gullies of NE to SE aspects. Cornices remaining unstable. A risk of
falling ice on some crags as the thaw continues.

SUMMARY.
Steady thaw conditions will maintain the prevailing Category 3
(Medium) risk of avalanche on steep NE to SE slopes and gullies.

Heavy rain and thawing at all levels have produced a wet unstable
snowpack. The avalanche risk is Category 4(High).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR MON 7/3/94
A continuing rise in the freezing level combined with rainfall will
maintain thaw conditions. Avalanches are likely on easterly aspects,
with cornices prone to collapse. The avalanche risk is expected to be
Category 3 (Medium).

SUMMARY.
Avalanches are likely on easterly aspects, due to continuing thaw
conditions. Danger of cornice collapse. Category 3 (Medium).

AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON SUN 6/3/94
Steady rain has moistened the snowpack. Unstable snow conditions
exist on N through to E facing slopes above 650m giving Avalanche
Risk Category 4 (High). Overnight avalanche debris noted in Great
Gully.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR MON 7/3/94
Continuing intermittent rain, with thaw at all levels. Wet slab
avalanches are likely on N through to E facing slopes above 650m.
Avalanche Risk Category 3 (Medium).
