A moist and generally stable snowpack exists at most levels. Above
1000m, some small areas of unstable wet snow are still present. The
avalanche risk is Category 3 (Medium Localised).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR TUE 8/3/94
Continuing mild conditions overnight will maintain a moist and
generally stable snowpack. Colder conditions in the afternoon
combined with snowfall above 900m, will form fresh windslab on
easterly aspects later in the day. The avalanche risk is expected to
be Category 3 (Medium Localised).

SUMMARY.
Generally stable snowpack with fresh windslab forming on easterly
aspects later in the day. Category 3 (Medium Localised).


NORTHERN CAIRNGORMS
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON MON 7/3/94
Steady thaw conditions have produced a moist and generally well
stabilised snowpack. Some risk of collapsing cornices and falling
ice on some crags. Category 2 (Low) risk of avalanche.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR TUE 8/3/94
Mild temperaures and moderate rainfall are forecast to continue
through the period. This will maintain the prevailing steady thaw and
the present Category 2 (Low) risk of avalanche. Collapsing cornices -
particularly those overhanging N to E facing corrie rims - and
falling ice will remain a hazard.

SUMMARY.
Steady thaw conditions will maintain the prevailing Category 2 (Low)
risk of avalanche.
