AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON FRI 11/3/94
A melt-freeze cycle has stablised the existing snowpack. On high E
and NE slopes isolated pockets of unstable windslab exist, giving
rise to a Category 3 (Medium Localised) risk of avalanche.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SAT 12/3/94
Moderate-high snowfall overnight and strong W winds, easing slightly,
with further moderate snowfall will result in additional accumulation
of windslab on E to NE slopes and gullies. Avalanches will occur
where significant deposits exist in these areas. Avalanche Risk
category 4 (High).

SUMMARY.
Strong W winds and new snowfall will give  Category 4 (High)
avalanche risk. Avalanches will occur on E and NE facing slopes.


LOCHABER
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON FRI 11/3/94
Large areas of unstable snow are present mainly on NE
aspects. Local wind effects have formed unstable areas in sheltered
locations and gullies. The avalanche risk is Category 4 (High).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SAT 12/3/94
Overnight heavy snow and strong westerly winds will further load
unstable windslab on to easterly aspects and sheltered locations,
where avalanches will occur. The avalanche risk will be
Category 4 (High).

SUMMARY.
Avalanches will occur on easterly aspects due to continued heavy snow
and strong westerly winds forming unstable windslab. Category 4 (High)


GLENCOE
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON FRI 11/3/94
There are moderate accumulations of fresh windslab lying in N facing
corries, mainly on N through to E facing slopes above 800m. Avalanche
Risk Category 3 (Medium). Large unstable cornices have formed above N
through to E facing slopes.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SAT 12/3/94
Heavy snowfall with storm force W winds, backing SW severe gale
force, will deposit further accumulations of windslab on N through to
E facing slopes above 800m giving Avalanche Risk Category 4 (High).
Avalanches will occur in these areas.

SUMMARY.
Avalanches will occur due to further accumulation of windslab on N to
E facing slopes above 800m. Avalanche Risk Category 4 (High).
