LOCHABER
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON SAT 12/3/94
Large areas of unstable snow are present mainly on easterly aspects
and other sheltered locations. Avalanche activity observed in the
eastern corries of Aonach Mor. The avalanche risk is Category 4
(High).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SUN 13/3/94
Gale force westerly winds and moderate accumulations of snow will
further load existing unstable areas. Greatest accumulations will be
on easterly aspects and other sheltered locations, where avalanches
will occur. The avalanche risk will remain at Category 4 (High).

SUMMARY.
Avalanches will occur, mainly on easterly aspects and other areas
sheltered from the westerly wind. Category 4 (High).

NORTHERN CAIRNGORMS
AVALANCHE RISK AT 15400 ON SAT 12/3/94
WSW to W winds and snow showers have resulted in the build up of
poorly stabilised windslab primarily on high, steep NE to E facing
slopes and gullies. Avalanche and cornice collapse debris noted on E
facing slopes high above Strath Nethy. Category 4 (High) risk of
avalanche.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SUN 13/3/94
Stormforce WNW winds and light snow showers are expected to lead to
some localised scouring on NE to SE facing lee slopes, with weakly
stabilised windslab accumulating in any high, steep sheltered areas
where avalanches will occur. Category 4 (High Localised) risk of
avalanches where accumulations are greatest.

SUMMARY.
Category 4 (High Localised) risk of avalanche on high, steep
sheltered NE to SE slopes and gullies where avalanches will occur.
