AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR WED 16/3/94 Continuing heavy snow and strong W to NW winds will further load existing unstable snow. Avalanches will occur, especially on easterly aspects. However very strong NW winds and heavy snow showers around midday have started to drift snow onto sheltered S to E facing slopes and gullies These pockets of slab are small and generally easily avoidable. Category 2 (Low) risk of avalanche. AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR WED 16/2/94 Forecasted very strong WNW winds and heavy snowfall will lead to a rapid build up of windslab on NE to SE facing slopes and gullies where avalanches will occur.
