AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON SAT 19/3/94
There has been considerable redistribution of windslab by the NW/N
wind onto SE through to SW facing slopes. However large areas of
windslab remain on N through to SE facing slopes. Avalanche Risk
Category 4 (High). Evidence of slab release on the NE flank of Clach
Leathad was observed.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SUN 20/3/94
High snowfall and gale force W wind, veering NW and becoming strong
will deposit further accumulations of windslab on N through E to S
facing slopes above 600m. Avalanche Risk Category 4 (High).
Avalanches will occur in these areas.

SUMMARY.
Avalanche Risk Category 4 (High) on N through E to S facing slopes
above 600m. Avalanches will occur in these areas.

NORTHERN CAIRNGORMS
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON SAT 19/3/94
Recent light snowfall in NW winds has created areas of weakly
stabilised windslab on high, steep E to SE facing slopes and
gullies.The remainder of the snowpack is generally well stabilised
with exposed hard snow/ice in many areas. Avalanche and cornice
collapse debris noted on E to SE facing slopes immediately S of
Hell's Lum crag. Category 4 (High Localised) risk of avalanche.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SUN 20/3/94
Forecasted moderate/strong W winds and snow showers are expected to
create additional areas of windslab on slopes and gullies of a E to
SE aspect where avalanches will occur. Category 4 (High Localised)
risk of avalanche where new accumulations are greatest.

SUMMARY.
Category 4 (High Localised) risk of avalanche high on E to SE facing
slopes and gullies where avalanches will occur.

LOCHABER
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON SAT 19/3/94
Large areas of unstable snow are present, mainly on NE, E and SE
facing slopes. Cornices are very unstable. Avalanche activity observed
in Coire an Lochain, Aonach Mor. The avalanche risk is Category 4
(High).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SUN 20/3/94
Further unstable snow accumulations are expected on NE, E and SE
facing slopes, where avalanches will occur. Cornices will remain very
unstable. The avalanche risk will remain at Category 4 (High).

SUMMARY.
Avalanches will occur on NE, E and SE facing slopes. Cornices will
remain very unstable. Category remaining at 4 (High).
