GLENCOE
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON TUE 22/3/94
Thaw conditions at all levels have moistened and softened the
snowpack. There are deep unstable accumulations mainly on N through
to SE facing slopes and in all sheltered slopes and gullies above
600m. Avalanche Risk Category 4 (High). Avalanche debris noted Coire
Nam Beith.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR WED 23/3/94
Storm force WSW-W winds and heavy rainfall at all levels overnight
turning to snow during course of day. Snowpack will remain unstable
in areas of greatest accumulation mainly N through to SE slopes and
sheltered slopes and gullies above 600m. Avalanche Risk Category 4
(High). Avalanches will occur where deposit are greatest.

SUMMARY.
Heavy rain at all levels will maintain the Avalanche Risk at 4
(High). Avalanches will occur on N to SE slopes and sheltered areas.

LOCHABER
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON TUE 22/3/94
Heavy rain and thawing has produced a moist snowpack at all levels.
Avalanche debris observed in main gullies of Corie na Ciste, Ben
Nevis. On slopes which have not already released, the avalanche risk is
Category 4 (High).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR WED 23/3/94
A thaw overnight followed by colder conditions tomorrow, will help
stabilise the existing snowpack. Fresh snow above 1000m will form
unstable windslab on easterly aspects, where avalanches will occur.
The avalanche risk will be Category 3 (Medium).

SUMMARY.
Snowpack stabilising overnight. Fresh windslab forming on east facing
slopes above 1000m, where avalanches will occur. Category 3 (Medium).
