GLENCOE
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON THU 24/3/94
There are light/moderate accumulations of fresh snow, lying as soft
windslab mainly on N through to E facing slopes above 800m. The base
of old snow has become firmer due to refreezing. Avalanche Risk
Category 3 (Medium Localised). Widespread spindrift slides were noted
in Coire nan Lochan.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR FRI 25/3/94
Light snow showers and a fresh WNW/NW wind will give some further
accumulation of windslab on NE through to S facing slopes and in all
sheltered gullies and hollows above 800m. Avalanche Risk Category 3
(Medium Localised).

SUMMARY.
Avalanche Risk Category 3 (Medium Localised). Moderate accumulations
of soft windslab on N through E to S facing slopes above 800m.

AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON THU 24/3/94
Overnight snow and strong westerly winds have deposited fresh
unstable deposits on all easterly aspects. The avalanche risk is
Category 3 (Medium).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR FRI 25/3/94
Further snow showers overnight and tomorrow accompanied by NW winds
will continue to load lee slopes with unstable windslab. Avalanches
are likely on E and SE aspects. The avalanche risk will be Category 3
(Medium).

SUMMARY.
Fresh unstable deposit forming mainly on E and SE aspects, where
avalanches are likely. Category 3 (Medium).

The snowpack is generally stable with many areas hard packed and wind
scoured.However, although recent snow is consolidating quickly there
are localised accumulations of less stable windslab on slopes and
gullies with an E aspect. Category 3 (Medium Localised) risk
of avalanche.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR FRI  25/3/94 Further light/mod snow
showers in strong WNW winds will maintain the presence of windslab on
slopes and gullies with a primarily E aspect. Where any significant
build up occurs avalanches are likely. Avalanche risk
Category 3 (Medium Localised) in these areas.

SUMMARY.
Category 3 (Medium Localised) risk of avalanche. Avalanches likely on
slopes and gullies with an E aspect.
