The absence of precipitation and the fresh NW to W wind are not
expected to change the condition of the snowpack. Avalanche Risk

Localised soft windslab on NE through to S facing slopes above 800m
in gullies and hollows. Avalanche Risk Category 3 (Medium Localised).


NORTHERN CAIRNGORMS
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON FRI 25/3/94
The snowpack is generally stable with many areas hard packed and wind
scoured.However, although recent snow is consolidating quickly there
are localised accumulations of less stable windslab on slopes and
gullies with an E aspect. Category 3 (Medium Localised) risk
of avalanche.

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SAT 26/3/94
Further light to moderate snow showers overnight with NW winds easing
and becoming light will maintain localised accumulations of windslab
on slopes and gullies with a primarily E aspect. Avalanche risk
Category 3 (Medium Localised) in these areas.

SUMMARY.
Category 3 (Medium Localised) risk of avalanche on slopes and gullies
with an E aspect.


LOCHABER
AVALANCHE RISK AT 1500 ON FRI 25/3/94
Areas of unstable snow exist, on easterly aspects and other areas
sheltered from the westerly wind. The avalanche risk is Category 3
(Medium).

AVALANCHE RISK OUTLOOK FOR SAT 26/3/94
No fresh snow is expected, but NW winds overnight and W winds
tomorrow will continue to load easterly aspects and lee slopes with
unstable windslab. The avalanche risk will be Category 3 (Medium).

SUMMARY.
Westerly winds continuing to load unstable windslab on easterly
aspects and lee slopes. Category 3 (Medium) risk of avalanche.
