AVALANCHE HAZARD OUTLOOK WED 20/3/96 Light snow flurries on light easterly winds may lead to the development of windslab on W through to N facing aspects. On steep slopes in these areas there will be a Moderate hazard of avalanche (Category 2.) Small cornices exist above many north facing slopes and gullies. CLIMBING CONDITIONS SNOW DISTRIBUTION: The plateau remains well covered with snow which is hard packed in many places. ICING: Existing ice remains in reasonable quality and quantity.
