Avalanche Information for the Scottish Mountains
SAIS Avalanche Reports - Start of Season 2025/26 - Be Alert to Early Winter Snowpack Instabilities
Daily Public Avalanche Reports for the 6 operational areas of Lochaber, Glencoe, Creag Meagaidh, Southern Cairngorms, Northern Cairngorms and Torridon regions will be issued from Thursday 11th Dec 2025. Prior to this date, mountain conditions and future weather patterns.will be monitored in collaboration with Met Office meteorologists. Generally any snow cover is expected to be superficial but be alert to any deeper unstable accumulations in localised steep wind sheltered places. If significant blanket snow cover is likely to be present in the mountains, and avalanche hazard is possible, relevant avalanche hazard information will be issued.
